A fire suit, also known as a firefighting suit or bunker gear, is a specialized protective clothing worn by firefighters during firefighting operations. The primary purpose of a fire suit is to provide protection to the firefighter from heat, flames, and other hazards associated with fire, such as smoke and toxic gases.

A typical fire suit consists of several components, including a helmet, hood, jacket, trousers, gloves, and boots. These components are made from a combination of fire-resistant materials, such as Nomex, Kevlar, and PBI (Polybenzimidazole). The suit is designed to be worn over the firefighter's regular clothing and can weigh up to 50 pounds, depending on the level of protection required.

Firefighters undergo extensive training on how to properly use and maintain their fire suits to ensure that they are always protected while on the job. In addition, fire departments often have strict guidelines on when and how to use the suits, depending on the type of fire and the level of risk involved.
